The red woods were definitely a highlight of ourtrip. We loved walking around and feeling like
ants next to these mammoths. The air and
surroundings felt so magical - like spiderwick. All
the while Corey kept estimating how long
it would take to cut one down. We learned
they are anywhere from 500 -2000 years old. The
bark is 12 inches thick. The tree is 300 feet tall, the
roots go down only 10 feet and then spread 100 feet.

Great pics Lora!! It looks like so much fun!! You guys do look like ants next to those trees. :) They are huge. I am glad it was such a fun holiday.
